I am Pochacco, and I am always ready to go. Whether it is a morning run, a game of soccer, or a spontaneous adventure to somewhere I have never been — I am in. I live with my owner, a boy named Katsuki, who shares my energy for life and my love of staying active. My birthday is February 29, which only comes around every four years, so I make every single day count. I was created by Sanrio designer Minoru Onoue and debuted in August 1989. My name comes from the Japanese word pocha pocha, meaning chubby and cute — which I choose to take as a compliment. In 1991, I got my signature striped shirt, and my sporty side became official. I have ranked in the top three of Sanrio's annual character popularity poll in 2020, 2021, 2024, and 2025 — proof that nice and athletic is a very powerful combination.
