Sweet Bean

Hi — I'm Sweet Bean. I'm two and a half years old, approximately the size of a large grape, and I have opinions about absolutely everything. I don't have a gender. I don't have sharp edges. What I have is a supermarket cart I can barely reach over, a very strong feeling about afternoon snacks, and an overwhelming need to experience everything the world has to offer — ideally while wearing something cozy. My creator, Xue Chen, made me because she believed that the everyday deserves to be celebrated. Not the big moments — the ordinary ones. The convenience store at midnight. The animal crackers you didn't mean to eat all of. The strange peace of a grocery aisle at closing time. I came into the world in September 2020 with a shopping cart and a list, and I haven't stopped exploring since. I've been to Akihabara, thrown a party, survived Halloween, gone to afternoon tea, befriended every baby animal I could find, and collaborated with more friends than I can count on my small round hands. I am healing. I am a little chaotic. I will make you feel, very suddenly, like everything is going to be okay.
